In His Steps

I tend not to make resolutions, exactly. I prefer to make goals, and mini-goals under large ones. This year's goals: *Continue to improve my marriage. *Continue to improve my health. -Go see an allergist this month. *Get the doll company off the ground. -Write up business plan and send to brother-in-law for review. *Complete my degree and graduate. *Continue to decrease debt. *Look into houses for purchase. This is the short list. Some very personal goals are not here, nor will they be. A couple of them will probably always be on this list, such as marital improvements. Marriage is not something you're given a certificate for upon the wedding day and boom, all is complete and unchanging.

So, we had a Merry Christmas here in the Frozen North a few days late. I took some pictures of our at home celebration. Our Charlie Brown Christmas tree. It looks even more pathetic when it and the table it sits on are surrounded by gifts. This was taken after we opened our family presents. One of our bookcases is supporting the Twelve Days of Christmas stockings we got last year. And of course, the loot! Er, gifts. I meant gifts. We received and gifted to each other many wonderful books. Up close shots. I made sure to include the gifts we had received when we'd had an early Christmas at Thanksgiving, so they are in the shot as well. And that's the last of it. My mother used to place all of the Christmas cards we got each year on the front hall closet door as part of the decorations. I ran out of tape and had a stack of the card...

Hello all! I'm going to begin with last month's holiday and move forward. My husband and I went to California to visit my family for Thanksgiving. We stayed with my grandma and had a lovely time. The night before Thanksgiving, we helped her prepare some things for the next day, including me baking cookies that did not burn. I can bake many things (bread, cakes, casseroles, bbq chicken, etc.), but I always seemed to burn cookies. Tragedy, I know. But lately, I've been getting better with them and I seemed to get it right that night. The next morning they let me sleep in until 11am, which was odd (I'm usually pounced several hours before that). We had a lovely day talking with my cousins and my mother and siblings. The next day we went to the Newport Beach Temple to try and attend a session, but we got stuck behind an overturned semi precariously near the guardrail to our side of the freeway. I am always impressed by set dressing, especially at theme parks. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do! Obligatory shoe shot. My feet hurt so bad. I bought Toms that night.

So back in October, I had my wisdom teeth extraction. It was not fun. I was also just home from my vacation to see my family and attend some friends' weddings, and had just lost my car on the return trip home, so it was a fairly miserable week. But, my husband and I still had Halloween to prepare for, so squashes must be obtained!
