Fifth Anniversary!

Image
It's been five years since Spousal Unit and I were married and sealed together. He is always the sweetest, most loving man. This year, I was gifted flowers I haven't had since the wedding day: lilies. They are a particular favorite of mine and he knows how to spoil me. Just look at these beauties! I still cannot believe how fortunate I am to have him in my life.

Christmas Day 2017!

Image
Christmas Day! I took these earlier today and Spousal Unit and I just enjoyed our day and dinner together. It was a very peaceful, relaxing day with just us. We didn't even get out of our pajamas all day and regret nothing whatsoever.

Baby Mittens

Image
It's time to make some gifts for the baby nephew! He needs mittens, so naturally I cracked out the leftover yarn from his Gnome Knot hat and whipped these mittens up to match it. Edit: 3.18.18; He outgrew them! I had to make him another fast set !

Thanksgiving CA Visit!

Image
Spousal Unit and I went to CA to visit my family for the Thanksgiving holiday this year and we happily took over making Thanksgiving dinner since my mom and Tara weren't going to be able to cook due to working all day. Kyle was able to help us find things since they still hadn't had a chance to unpack from moving to a new apartment and new city. I think our turkey turned out beautifully and it was stuffed with root vegetables and garlic, so the whole place smelled absolutely amazing. Mom after work, relaxing and enjoying the smell while the last of it all was still baking. Surprise SU! That weekend there was an SCA tourney, so I happened to have packed our garb, so we went with my family to watch my old household fight and to shop the stalls there. I found a bunch of trims that would look great for BJD products. SU looking handsome and relaxing in the shade. Mom wondering why I keep taking pictures of her. Amusement park selfie...

Our Niece Got Married

Image
One of our nieces got married this past weekend and we were really pleased to be able to see her happy with her new husband! I didn't get many photos, but the cake cutting was definitely a time I could get the bride and groom standing mostly still. Naturally, they got it all over each other, lol!

Newt Scamander Scarf

Image
I got contacted by one of my sisters-in-law about her son's Halloween costume. He really wants to be Newt Scamander for Halloween and she decided to commission me to knit him the Hufflepuff scarf Newt wears in the movies. I, of course, accepted the commission and got knitting! I just finished it, so I can't wait to get it to them when they are in town soon! I'm just happy I finished in time for the holiday as well as a visit so it won't be late! Here's the Ravelry link! Edit: I got pictures of the whole costume and my nephew Daniel looks so very good in it! This last one is my favorite!

My Mom's Birthday & Tara's Move

Image
My sister has decided to move back to CA, which is sad for me, but it is likely the best decision for her. So, I drove her down to Mesquite, NV, Mom met us there and we celebrated Mom's birthday together. Mom would drive Tara the rest of the way. We decided going bowling would be fun, especially since Mom used to be in a bowling league when we were kids. Tara won the game by a few points! I am still terrible, but hey, we had fun! We stayed the night at the hotel and went to dinner at a fancy restaurant. It was AMAZING, so now we want to go there whenever we meet in Mesquite in the future! I'm glad mom got to have an amazing birthday with us.

In-Law's Fiftieth Wedding Anniversary

Image
Spousal Unit's parents have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this year, so all of his seven siblings, spouses, and niblings have traveled to the Frozen North to join us for the big party. We gathered at a church cultural hall for several hours to eat and have fun. It was really cool to see all the cousins visiting and hanging out with each other, forming tighter friendships. Afterward we went to a park and took family photos for the first time in over ten years, then returned to clean up while his parents got to go home and rest. It was a packed day!
