My Mom's Birthday & Tara's Move

My sister has decided to move back to CA, which is sad for me, but it is likely the best decision for her. So, I drove her down to Mesquite, NV, Mom met us there and we celebrated Mom's birthday together. Mom would drive Tara the rest of the way.

We decided going bowling would be fun, especially since Mom used to be in a bowling league when we were kids.










Tara won the game by a few points! I am still terrible, but hey, we had fun!

We stayed the night at the hotel and went to dinner at a fancy restaurant. It was AMAZING, so now we want to go there whenever we meet in Mesquite in the future! I'm glad mom got to have an amazing birthday with us.

I did something crazy today. I blame one of my favorite webcomics for it, actually, specifically, this page of it: The webcomic is Manly Guys Doing Manly Things and is one of the funniest comics I've ever read. Facial Cyst--OW

It started small. I thought I was just getting a deeper pimple on my cheek just off my nose, and did my usual skincare routine. But then, this past week, it proved to be something different. I woke up to get ready to go to work. My face hurt and felt extremely hot, so I went to the bathroom and discovered what was really happening. (I apologize: none of the pictures are going to be flattering or pretty, but nothing graphic, don't worry.) My face had swollen up on that side and with the amount of pain I was in, I knew this had to be a cyst, not a simple zit. I called out sick and then went to work finding a local dermatologist ASAP. A few hours later I took another picture before heading in to my appointment. It had gotten worse, puffing up under my eye and everything. I was so grateful to be seen that very day.
