Fanart of Khorae!

Image
So this year, I received a present from my good friend Chynna. She painted Khorae for me! I love it so much, so very very much. So please meet once again: Khorae, my now chibi D&D sorcerer in Waterdeep.

Gaming Con 2016

Image
Our friend Sam got free tickets for Douglas and I to go to Gaming Con. It was a smaller con, but we were able to play D&D and see some cool things. I also ate churros. Two of them. Delicious. Douglas found a LARP group and joined in on some of the boffer games. He couldn't resist and had a grand time.

Video Games, A New Frontier

When I was growing up, video games were that thing that wealthier friends of mine had and played. I could never fathom being interested in playing them myself. As I grew older, more and more of the friends I had were gamers in that way. They would talk about their games and I would zone out (irony of ironies) until they went back onto a subject I could relate to. Some made valiant attempts at including me. I button-mashed in Soul Calibur and Super Mario Smash Brothers. I enjoyed the prettiness of games like Final Fantasy VII and Legend of Zelda. Heck, video games inspired my art for a time, even though I still never played. I had to work, I had to go to school, I would rather read books or draw or craft with what little spare time I had. And I knew, deep down in my little soul, that my obsessive personality would grab onto whatever game it was and not let go. Well, suddenly my life changed dramatically. Last year in June, I reached a milestone: I graduated college. For the first time...

Gingerbread Army

Image
My friends and I went to a gaming store (big shocker there!) and one of the employees (or possibly the owner) had a treat there. Enjoy... the Gingerbread ARMY!!! The whole army is on a baking sheet, BWAHAHAHAHAHA! This sorcerer created the army, so he was modified for a chef's hat and bread paddle for a staff. Just so funny. Infantry! Ogres! Cavalry. Munitions cart. More ogres and a giant troll in the background. Another cart. Marshmallow monster cannon!!!!

Being sick is never fun. Especially when you got the day off over a month ago to go be with your family on your parents' 25th Anniversary. So instead of visiting, I get to lie in bed feeling gross and stuffed up, with a cotton head and a fever. I have been playing with my dolls a bit more though, so I thought I'd share some pictures of my Puki (PukiPuki Mary, to be specific). She's in a new dress and wig now, though the "right" wig for her is still yet to be found. Her name is Briar and the name fits her personality. I hope you like her; she's very cute. She has a bit of a Wednesday Addams complex at times, but the new dress seems to have calmed her. I can only hope that a proper wig will do the same. Khorae, my Iplehouse Silvia BJD, is one I don't have many pictures of, and those that I do have the wrong eyes and things. She's a manifestation of a character I've had in my head for a very long time; perhaps 5 or 6 years now. Enough that she's b...
