Giveaway Presents!

This post is about the amazing giveaway prize I won by being luck from the lovely Kate at Vintage in a Modern World. I received a package in the mail yesterday and eagerly cried, "Presents!" The package and I went off to my room and out came the camera.


Package! I opened it and then, lo, a smaller package!


I tried to get the colors right, but my camera and I have been having many long arguments lately. Isn't it cute?

So I opened the card, which asked me if I wanted cream or sugar...Both!


Ahh...the cutest note from Kate. Thank you for the lovely stationary and the joy of having a present to look forward to in the mail!

I did something crazy today. I blame one of my favorite webcomics for it, actually, specifically, this page of it: The webcomic is Manly Guys Doing Manly Things and is one of the funniest comics I've ever read. Facial Cyst--OW

It started small. I thought I was just getting a deeper pimple on my cheek just off my nose, and did my usual skincare routine. But then, this past week, it proved to be something different. I woke up to get ready to go to work. My face hurt and felt extremely hot, so I went to the bathroom and discovered what was really happening. (I apologize: none of the pictures are going to be flattering or pretty, but nothing graphic, don't worry.) My face had swollen up on that side and with the amount of pain I was in, I knew this had to be a cyst, not a simple zit. I called out sick and then went to work finding a local dermatologist ASAP. A few hours later I took another picture before heading in to my appointment. It had gotten worse, puffing up under my eye and everything. I was so grateful to be seen that very day.
