Serious Introspection

Nothing like General Conference to get me on track. I realized I've been mean to a few people, in the form of speaking ill about them, recently. So...I need to apologize to them. Now, they were never mentioned by name nor were they portrayed as horrible people, but due to experiences with them in the past that I've discovered had affected me badly in a negative manner, I cast them in a bad light to explain what happened to me. I never absolved myself of my part in the situation, but that doesn't make my words any better.

I hope I can learn to control my tongue.

I did something crazy today. I blame one of my favorite webcomics for it, actually, specifically, this page of it: The webcomic is Manly Guys Doing Manly Things and is one of the funniest comics I've ever read. Letter A: Anniversary, the Second!

Welcome to the first of my alphabet month challenge posts! Spousal Unit and I just celebrated our second anniversary at the beginning of February. We did so in our usual fashion: find a museum and a good restaurant and go! (As a note, we're running out of museums to go to.... we went to many while dating.) The destination we chose was the Utah Museum of Fine Art. We got there in the morning on a Saturday and they had a rather interesting exhibit on the use of text in art (collages with newspapers, using words artistically throughout a piece, etc). They even had a typewriter you could use and play around with words that others had already written. It had the standard amount of crass and thoughtful phrases on it. Letter F: The Flume

Last fall, Spousal Unit and I went to New Hampshire for a much needed vacation. My friend Anki, who lives out there, became our guide, and suggested that we go to see The Flume , a local geographical feature. I was unprepared. This place is stunning! And, because we went in the fall... COLOR! I'm posting the following pictures of the Flume itself, which hadn't quite been hit with the same fall brilliance as the rest of the forest around it--it was very very green. At a later date, I will post pictures of the hike up and the hike down (the hike runs in a loop, so you see different things) and link everything back here. Anki and the Spousal Unit! I had to admire the trees in this place. Their reckless disregard for things like boulders and rocks being in their way never failed to impress me.
