Cat Sitting for Technomancer

Camilla's beau, the Technomancer, had to go to a work thingy and asked me to watch his kitties while he was gone. I was more than delighted and took oodles of pictures of them while I was playing with them. Enjoy their adorableness.

This is Demon. She's very playful and into everything.

And this is Mickey! He's elderly and a bit ill, but he was willing to play and seemed to be doing alright while I took care of him.

Twelfth Night 2016

It was our usual Twelfth Night celebration. We do it every year as close to the actual Twelfth Night (Jan 6) as possible because December is usually a mess of events and family, so our group of friends generally just... wait for December to pass. It was also our January house night.

Spousal Unit!

That night I made a medieval honey cake in a castle mold. It shrunk quite a bit, so next time I will remember to double the recipe for that mold. Be that as it may, it was lovely and very tasty.

Best Pork Ever Recipe

So this is a recipe I found online and modified. I can't find the original but if it looks familiar, someone send me the link so I can credit them!

Ingredients:

Pork rub:
3 tbsp brown sugar
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp ground cumin
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tbsp salt (rough estimate)
1/2 tsp ground ginger
1/2 tsp ground black pepper
1/4 tsp ground cardamom
1/4 tsp dill weed

Main:
1 3 lb. pork loin
(cooking spray)
2ish cups thinly sliced apples
2ish cups pear halves (2 regular cans [in juice not syrup] is fine--save the pear juice)
1 can chicken broth

Sauce:
Pear juice remainder
2 heaping spoonfuls of apple jelly
1/4 cup flour

Preparation:
1. Preheat over to 400 degrees.
2. Mix the pork rub in a small bowl (first 9 ingredients).
3. Coat roasting pan with cooking spray.
4. Massage the pork loin with the rub, then place the pork loin into the roasting pan.
5. Place sliced apples and pears around pork.
